As If IT Had Been a While Ago

By investigating the structure of the memory process through the medium of painting, the author of the exhibition summarizes the past experience of his rich creative oeuvre and brings completely new solutions for the audience.

With this exhibition, Nikola Žigon embarks on a journey through his own memory map. A journey that has its duration, shortcuts and detours, as well as its final destination. Although the works concern unforgettable moments from the artist’s life, they do not depict Nikola Žigon of the past. Looking back on memories, he provoked a bright and fresh energy, which marks a new period, both in the artistic and earthly life of the author, which he humorously refers to in the work “Next year I turn sixty”. Because the end of each cycle is the beginning of a new one, art historian Ksenija Marinković states in the text of the catalog.

The artist dedicated the exhibition to his recently deceased mother, the famous actress Jelena Žigon. The audience will be able to watch it until June 30.
