From Thursday, November 3rd, the exhibition Short Summer Horror Story by artist Nikola Marković will be open in the X Vitamin gallery. A new series of paintings and monograph with the previous work of this artist will be presented.
Articulating the visual sensations recorded this summer, Marković places the actors in his paintings in idyllic narratives in which the trap for happiness is hidden. In the circumstances characteristic for Agatha Christie’s mysteries, the bright colors of cheerful resorts take on a new hue. Many details in the paintings indicate the need for re-examination even in moments of carefree happiness.
The work of Nikola Marković goes through a complete transformation in formal and thematic terms with each new series.
This is an opportunity to present the first publication of the X Vitamin gallery, dedicated to the presentation of Serbian contemporary artists. Monograph dedicated to the work of Nikola Marković presents the oeuvre of over 10 years, and for which the texts were written by eminent experts in this field.
